Buckner Promotes Emergency Equipment Donation Drive During COVID-19 Outbreak
Updated: Sep 7
CHICAGO – To help alleviate the ongoing shortage in emergency medical supplies, state Rep. Kam Buckner, D-Chicago, is promoting Serve Illinois’ donation drive for personal protective equipment (PPE) for first responders and health care workers during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease) outbreak.
“To help support the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak, I am urging residents and businesses to donate personal protective equipment to our first responders and medical professionals, who are still facing a severe shortage of supplies,” said Buckner. “Our first responders and health care workers have our backs during this crisis, and now more than ever, we need to have theirs.”
The state is currently seeking unopened medical supplies, including face shields, gowns, masks, and gloves. All items donated should be in the manufacturers’ original packaging and unopened. Residents wishing to make a donation of equipment should contact Serve Illinois at email@example.com or visit their official website at www.Serve.Illinois.gov.
“While this situation is dire, I know our state is strong enough to get through this health crisis,” Buckner said. “In order to get through this outbreak, we must stand united and do everything we can to support our first responders and health care workers on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19.”
